SomaSwap Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

Welcome to SomaSwap. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. About SomaSwap

SomaSwap is an online platform that allows parents and guardians to buy, sell, or exchange school-related items such as books, uniforms, and accessories within their communities.

SomaSwap does not own, inspect, or guarantee the items listed on the platform.

2. User Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use SomaSwap

  • You must provide accurate and complete information during registration

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account

3. User Responsibilities

By using SomaSwap, you agree to:

  • Provide truthful and accurate item descriptions

  • Upload real images of items listed

  • Treat other users respectfully

  • Complete transactions in good faith

You must not:

  • Post fraudulent or misleading listings

  • Sell prohibited or illegal items

  • Use the platform for scams or abuse

4. Listings

  • Users are responsible for the accuracy of their listings

  • SomaSwap reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these Terms

  • Items must be school-related (e.g., books, uniforms, shoes, accessories)

5. Transactions

  • SomaSwap facilitates connections between buyers and sellers

  • We are not a party to the transaction between users

  • Buyers and sellers are responsible for agreeing on:

    • Price

    • Delivery or pickup

    • Payment method

6. Payments & Fees

  • SomaSwap may charge fees for services such as:

    • Featured listings

    • Reservation fees

    • Other premium features

  • All fees will be clearly displayed before payment

  • Payments made through the platform may be subject to third-party processing fees (e.g., M-Pesa)

7. Reservations

  • Certain items may require a reservation fee to secure

  • Reservation fees may be non-refundable unless stated otherwise

8. Safety & Conduct

Users are responsible for their interactions with others.

SomaSwap does not conduct background checks and cannot guarantee:

  • The identity of users

  • The quality or condition of items

Users should take reasonable precautions when meeting or transacting.

9. Disputes

  • SomaSwap is not responsible for disputes between users

  • However, we may assist in resolving issues at our discretion

10. Prohibited Items

You may not list:

  • Illegal goods

  • Counterfeit items

  • Dangerous or harmful products

  • Non-school-related items

11. Account Suspension

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

  • Remove content without prior notice

12. Limitation of Liability

SomaSwap is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

We are not liable for:

  • Losses resulting from transactions between users

  • Damages caused by misuse of the platform

13. Privacy

Your use of SomaSwap is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform means you accept the updated Terms.
